Minister Fast Welcomes Manufacturing Export Win

Ontario manufacturing sector workers to benefit from export
August 8, 2014 - Ottawa, Ontario - Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada
The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, today announced the signing of a $30-million contract for the sale of 6K low-profile shipboard-use forklifts by Liftking to the United States Department of Defense.
The sale was facilitated by the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), the Government of Canada’s international government-to-government contracting organization.
The contract was awarded under the Defence Production Sharing Agreement between Canada and the United States of America.

Quick Facts
Over the past 55 years, Canada’s Defence Production Sharing Agreement contracts have totalled more than $30 billion.
In 2012-13, CCC contracted Canadian goods and services worth over $577 million through the Defence Production Sharing Agreement. CCC is a Crown corporation that reports to Parliament through the Minister of International Trade.

Canada’s pro-trade plan delivers on another export win. Our government continues to build on existing important relationships with our traditional international partners—like the United States, where Canada already has major trade interests—to create jobs and opportunities in every region of the country.
